Wild about Watercolor
An open-to-all, combined online and in-the-gallery exhibit featuring the medium of watercolor.
October 16 - November 21
The exhibit started online on October 16 and submissions ended October 31. We opened a gallery exhibition of a selection of submissions on November 6, and worked out a Zoom format event for the awarding of prizes on November 13. (Folks said they enjoyed that online get-together quite a bit.)
The exhibit is a chance to enjoy variety and diversity in the utilization of this medium, but it is also a competition and many piece are for sale. We awarded prizes (awesome gift certificates from local businesses) for six categories, and have the winners posted here:
-Overall favorite - Amy Hook-Therrien - Spring No. 3
-Most original: Sylvie Mathilde Fabrikant - Bella
-Most flamboyant: Patti Warren - Rosalie's Birthday Peonies
-Most communicative: Lesley Butman - Purple Thistles
-Most atmospheric: Kate L. Cone - Spectacle Pond
-Most technically accomplished: Amy Hook-Therrien - Spring No. 3
74 people voted and we are ready to award prizes using a Zoom format meeting, Nov. 13 at 4 pm.
We had three excellent judges willing to help: painters Jennifer Brown, Matthew Greenway, and Stephanie Reininger.
