Wild about Watercolor 2025
An open-to-all, combined online and in-the-gallery exhibit featuring the medium of watercolor.

This exhibit explores the variety and diversity of the wonderful medium of watercolor. Most pieces are for sale and on display in the MBFA gallery in downtown Lyme until November 15th, 2025.
Our "Meet the Artists" party was held on Friday, October 17th, and as many as 50 folks came through. Our first ever detail scavenger hunt was a success, with about 15 people (or teams, in some cases) qualifying for the raffle prize by successfully finding at least 18/20 detail images within the WAW artwork. More importantly, gallery visitors reported having fun engaging with the artwork more closely!
The show is a sharing, but also a contest for the artists. 80 people voted for their favorite artworks in the six categories below. Prizes were gift certificates at Stella's Italian Kitchen and Market, Cedar Circle Farm, Lyme Home and Hardware, and at Matt Brown Fine Art. The winners are:

-Most original: The Estate Sale by Michele Moen
-Most flamboyant: Some Like it Pink by Judi Brown
-Most communicative: Friends by Julie Henderson
-Most atmospheric: The Rowboat by Ellen Grant
-Most technically accomplished: Spring Swans by Lynn Zimmerman
