Robert Chamberlin

Working Waterfront by Robert Chamberlin, 2025
During my school years I was encouraged by many fine art teachers. But the dads in my neighborhood wore suits and carried briefcases in their work. None of them were heading to the studio. It was natural for me to pursue a career as an engineer.
Years later I became an “August painter”: every August on our family vacation to Maine I would unpack a watercolor set, paint in every spare moment, and then pack things up until the next August. Now I paint every day and my artistic aspirations always evolve. I am moved by the work of Franz Marc, Andrew Wyeth and Bo Bartlett.
