Meg McLean
Painter
Formerly an illustrator of childrens’ books and magazines, Meg works full-time now as a painter. She is a graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art and a member of the Copley Society of Art in Boston. She first moved to Lyme in the early 80s, left, came back, left, came back, then left and came back. She is thoroughly settled in Lyme now but still likes to travel. Her paintings feature imagery of Lyme and the Upper Valley alongside images of Scotland, England, and small oases in cities such as Boston or New York. Her work is primarily oil on canvas or board; she also makes gouache paintings and exhibits wonderful drawings in charcoal.
