Wild about Watercolor 2023
An open-to-all, combined online and in-the-gallery exhibit featuring the medium of watercolor.
This fall we stage our 5th annual open-entry show featuring the medium of watercolor painting. We are showing this exhibit both online and in the gallery. We are pleased to share 31 entries by 19 different artists. Online voting has completed for winners in six categories; visit the Wild about Watercolor 2023 exhibit page to learn of our six winners and the runners-up. Shown is “Vanishing Species - Sea Turtle - an icon for all of the sea turtles facing extinction", a watercolor entry by Petey Becker.

TNLG Highlights: Handmade Prints from The New Leaf Gallery
A selection from The New Leaf Gallery, the MBFA gallery's sister project.
In November of 2020 MBFA gallery owner Matt Brown embarked on a gallery project collaboration based in the city of Keene, NH, focused on the sharing of hand-made prints. He closed the Keene location in June of 2022, but the effort lives on at a location in Weybridge, VT (where Matt lives, does shipping, and develops prints part of each week). The New Leaf Gallery's focus is currently online, seeking to connect the work of printmakers with handmade print enthusiasts.

Kabuki Escapes: Woodblock Prints by U. Kunisada
An exhibit of color woodblock prints designed by the 19th century Japanese print designer, Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) exploring a theme of escapism in Kunisada's kabuki world: stories built around escapes, designs emphasizing escapist imagery, pattern and color arrangements encouraging us to break free of our muddled reality and enter into a crisp-edged, eloquently-colored visual world.

An exhibit of original 19th century prints designed by the 19th century Japanese print designer, Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) exploring the legacy of one of Japan's famous kabuki actors: Danjuro VIII (1823 - 1854).

2021 MBFA Annual Holiday Show
This year's Holiday show includes selections of interesting work by some of our favorite artists along with new treasures. Featured is work by artists new to Matt Brown Fine Art: Kira Campbell's mugs and bowls (Star Mountain Pottery), Daisy Hebb's calendars and cards, Barbara Mason's raku-fired pottery. And we have new work by artists we've worked with for some time: Kate and Fred Pearce brought in an entirely newly worked out selection of jewelry, Holle Black brought in new pieces, as has Jennifer Brown, Jon Rose, Barbara Newton, Lynn Adams, Jelena Milone, Matthew Greenway, Susani Arnold, Meg McLean, Stephanie Reininger, and Amanda Ann Palmer.

The Beauty of Birds
A Virtual Art Exhibit inspired by the diverse splendor of birds, open for all to participate in with digital images of 2-d work that is made by hand.
This is a virtual art exhibit of works submitted by community members of all ages and experience levels and by students of the Lyme School. Our goal through this virtual art exhibition is to engage the community in a celebration of birds and bird art.

Introducing the Green Lion Gallery
The Green Lion Gallery, formerly of Bath, ME, features contemporary hand-pulled prints. The exhibit is a "first-taste" presentation of some of the work we have, all of it assembled and curated by the Green Lion Gallery's founder, Dave Morgan, himself a printmaker and gallery member.
